Fredericton Transit Garage

City of Fredericton, NB

From 2006 to 2011 Darroch White was General Manager & Architect for Goguen & Company Architecture which was subsequently renamed to Goguen White Architecture.  During that time Darroch was Architect of record for a new transit building for the City of Fredericton.  Originally the project scope was to include a new operations centre, crew areas, and administration space however the design team identified this as not being within the allowable budget during concept design.  The design carried forward featured an indoor parking garage for transit buses as well as a service line for washing, vacuum, fluids, and refueling.   Due to the project’s tight schedule overlaying other projects in progress the CAD work and specifications were outsourced; adding an additional level of challenge to overall project management.  The robust and economical steel structure was completed under budget and includes clerestory glazing, ventilation, in-floor heating, and a mixture of sectional and high speed overhead doors.
